Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a travel nurse? Each month, we will feature a new Traveler of the Month who was selected by one of our recruiters.
I became a nurse four years ago. Nursing is kind of a family ordeal for me! My grandmother was a pediatric nurse, both of my parents are nurse practitioners and my younger sister is also a nurse.
I started travel nursing because it is an incredible opportunity to travel and see the country. I’ve lived in 5 different states so far and each one has been vastly different. To have the opportunity to experience the different cultures, people, food and environment has been a truly unique experience.
Colorado has been my favorite location to travel to so far. The weather is incredible (it’s sunny and blue skies everyday), everyone I have met has been incredibly friendly, and there are endless things to do! I am constantly hiking, rollerblading and trying out new breweries. There are also 4 national parks!
My favorite thing about travel nursing is exploring new areas, meeting new people, and all of the amazing road trips. I’ve driven across the country and back twice now, and have stopped at numerous state and national parks; it’s been a blast!
Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Try new things and experiences, branch out and meet new people, try new specialties at work. You’ll grow as a person; you won’t regret it!
