In the movie Wit, Vivian Bearing, a well-known and esteemed college professor, is diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Her medical team offers an experimental treatment that consists of aggressive rounds of chemotherapy. During her treatment, she reflects on her life and befriends her nurse, who she feels is the only person that cares about her as a person and not just as an experiment (IMDb, n.d.).

Meet the Parents

In this romcom, male nurse, Greg Focker, meets his girlfriends’ parents for the first time. Greg isn’t the most impressive individual, and his girlfriend’s father is determined to find out everything he can about his daughters’ boyfriend. Formerly part of the CIA, you can see how this would be an easy task for him (IMDb, n.d.). Nurses looking for a not so serious movie will love this film with popular cast members, Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.

Florence Nightingale

Every nurse knows Florence Nightingale and her story – or at least they should. If you aren’t familiar with her work, you’ll want to give the film a watch. This movie tells the life story of Florence Nightingale and how modern nursing came to be.

Knives Out

This mystery will leave you on the edge of your seat. Knives Out is about a wealthy yet unconventional family who gathers at their father’s mansion to celebrate his 85th birthday. On the night of his birthday, however, he ends up deceased, leading to an investigation led by an incessant detective who is determined to unravel the truth (IMDb, n.d.). The victims nurse and good friend believes she accidentally played a part in his death, leading her to spiral with feelings of guilt and dread.

The Good Nurse

In the thriller, The Good Nurse, Amy is a devoted nurse and single mother who is nearly burnt out from the constant night shifts she has to work. Hopefully lessening her workload, she sees a light at the end of the tunnel when a new male nurse, Charlie, starts working at the same unit as her. They develop a friendship until Amy discovers an alarming amount of mysterious patient deaths that she believes could be linked to Charlie (IMDb, n.d.).
