For the 17th consecutive year, nurses have earned the top spot as the most honest and ethical profession, thanks to the annual Gallup poll which compares nurses to other professions such as teachers, journalists and lawyers. Out of those who took the survey, 84% of Americans rated the honesty and ethical standards of nurses as “high” or “very high.” This is a 2% increase compared to last year’s responses.
It comes as no surprise to us that nurses have earned this honor for 17 years in a row. Nurses enter this profession because they want to help people, often during their most challenging times. Nurses are seen as trustworthy because they are their patients’ biggest supporters and advocates day in and day out.
