I always wanted to be a nurse, but life happened and that didn’t come true. I feel it was truly an unanswered prayer because my career as a surgical technologist has been so exciting. I have been able to experience and learn more than I ever could have imagined. I value nurses and love working with them, I have worked with some of the best, but surgery intrigues me. The human body amazes me!
Kansas City, Missouri has been fun! I don’t know if I have a favorite yet though. I have so much I want to explore and becoming a traveler has been a dream come true.
I enjoy meeting new people, experiencing the diversity of the healthcare systems and seeing the sights of new places.
Good nutrition.
Find a great recruiter! Always be willing to help and to learn, no matter what your experience level. Let the people that have been working with your current doctors help you and give you insight. If you go into a facility with a know-it-all attitude, most will not be willing to help. It is always a good idea to listen to their perspective. This will make your contract experience the best ever!
To just be patient! This has been a trying time for everyone. We all need to continue to work together and no matter how frustrating things become, the safe care of the patient is first and foremost your goal!
I enter a facility with confidence, but also the willingness to learn from others. I stay out of the drama and politics which is the beauty of traveling for me! I have the wonderful ability to get along well with others.
I also enjoy hiking and I love to garden. I always use these experiences to make sure I get out and hike in nature wherever I go. There is such a peace that I experience in the wilderness. I love meeting new people and going out to have coffee or drinks. Traveling has brought some of the most amazing people into my life.
Always enter into the traveling experience with confidence but be willing to learn! I can’t express that enough. There is an entire world of possibilities for us out there and I am just scratching the surface!
